Surgeries are performed Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Fridays.
If your pet is scheduled for any surgery don't forget the night before No food after 6pm and No water after 10pm. Drop off is the day of surgery between 8-9am.
Spay and Neuter
Spaying and Neutering your pet is beneficial to their health. Unspayed females have a higher probability for mammary cancer and pyometra (infected uterus), while males have a higher chance of prostate issues and testicular cancers.
We require the following:

Pet must be 5-6 months old or older and at least 5 pounds (unless Breed is teacup size)

Blood work (done on day of surgery)(optional for cats)

Rabies Vaccination (can be done on day of surgery)
All quotes include the Surgery, Anesthesia, Bloodwork, Pain medications and possible antibiotics if needed. There is an additional charge for dogs older than 5 years being spayed and cats that are in early pregnancy.
Mass Removal
Masses and lumps come in all shapes and sizes. Most common are Lipomas (fat), Cysts or cancer like masses.
We recommend removal if:

the lump has burst
-
increased in size dramatically
-
affecting your pet's daily life
-
any cancerous tissues.
All lumps/masses will need to be checked by the Doctor before surgical removal is scheduled. Size matters when removing masses. Small lumps/masses are easier to close and heal faster whereas larger lumps require a larger area of removal. These are more difficult to close after removal and may take longer to heal.
Anesthesia
We use gas anesthesia as well as injectable.

Isoflurane Gas - a clear, nonflammable liquid turned into a gas for general anesthesia during surgery. It is fast acting and recovery is faster.

Induction Anesthesia - Diazepam and Ketamine Intravenous (all dog surgeries and cat dentals)

TXK - Telazol, Xylazine and Ketamine mixed. This is an intramuscular injection for cats.
